Much has changed so pay close attention.
First, thanks to the hard work of Eric Miller, the league has a much improved web-site for viewing schedules and league standings. The Captains list is available on the site for easy reference (if any information needs to be changed, please let me know). We will also post information about the Cleveland Masters and Cleveland Cup tournaments as well as other regional tournaments. We hope that the site will be used by all paddle participants.
As to the interclub league for this year, the format has been tweaked slightly to accomodate 26 teams. The result is a 10 team Division 1, an 8 team Division 2, and an 8 team Division 3.
Division 1 includes one team from each club. These teams will play eachother once during the 9 weeks between October 23rd and December 18th and then once each again during January and February. We will either do a one or two week playoff at the end of this 18 week regular season.
Divisions 2 and 3 will both have 8 teams. As with last year's format, these divisions will play a fall season and a winter season. Each season will consist of a seven week regular season (playing each team once) with a two week playoff at the end.
As noted above, the division standings will be posted on the web site. In order to keep the standings up to date it is important that all scores be reported in a timely manner. This year scores should be reported to Eric Miller at emiller@letternine.net. It should be the responsibility of the home team captain to report the scores but we don't care who we get them from as long as we get them. As with the last couple of years, the division standings are determined by ranking points -- teams get 2 points for winning a match (4-0 or 3-1), 1 point for tying a match, and 0 points for losing.
See you on the paddle court!
